Super 14

Hi everyone, If you do not know, I really enjoy watching the Super 14 rugby on T.V.

Unfortunately the Chiefs lost to the Hurricanes 39 - 19. This game was being played at Wellington (Hurricanes home ground). I think the Hurricanes were Favourites to win. Jimmy Gopperth and the captain, Rodney So’oialo, played well for the Hurricanes. It wasn’t the Chief’s night.

The Crusaders won against the Stormers 22 - 0, a result I’m happier about. And the Western Force (from Austrailia) won against the Lions (from South Africa) 18 - 16

At the moment the Crusaders (from Canterbury, New Zealand) are top of the table and have won all 3 games they have played. Blues (from Auckland, New Zealand) are in 2nd place, having played 2 games and won 2 games. This week the Blues will play the Cheetahs. I think the Blues will win.

Bye for now, Greg

CHIEFS VS BLUES

Hi everyone, on the weekend I went up to Auckland on a bus. It was the 16th of February in New Zealand and I went to Auckland to see the Blues play the Chiefs in the Super 14. This is a Rugby competition. I was cheering for the Chiefs. At half time the Chiefs were winning 11 points to 8. The Chiefs had scored 1 try worth 5 points and 2 penalties were successfully kicked worth 3 points each, the Chiefs missed the conversion of the try worth 2 points. The second half wasn’t as good for the Chiefs, losing the match 14 points to 32

On Tuesday 12th February 12:30pm New Zealand time I went to watch the Blackcaps play England at Hamilton. This was the 2nd 50 over match in the series between these 2 teams. England batted first and made just over 150 runs. The game had to be shortened to 36 overs because of rain. Because of something called the Duckworth Lewis system which I do not understand The New Zealand Blackcaps needed 168 to win. Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder, the opening partnership, hit lots of 4’s and 6’s to win the game in less than 20 overs. (1 over is 6 balls bowled) By for now Gregory!
